今回はサイクリストに優しい明徳寺観光センターを紹介いたします。
修善寺駅から天城峠に向かうと、伊豆市市山地区があります。まだ旅の途中ですが、静かに佇む明徳寺という寺があります。歴史が古く、「烏瑟沙摩明王（うすさまみょうおう）」が祀られています。多くの人にとってはなじみの薄い名前ですが、実は現在では「トイレの神様」として親しまれています。「烏瑟沙摩明王」は東司（とうす／とんす）、つまりトイレの守護神で、シモの病にご利益があるとして全国的に分厚い信仰を集めています。自転車に乗る人は何度も訪れるべき場所の一つです。
明徳寺の入口にまたサイクリストの胃袋を満たす有名なやきもち店があり、焼きたての草餅と磯辺焼きのおいしさで知られています。自転車で訪れる際、20円引きというお財布に嬉しいサービスがあります。

Discover Izu's attractions in the 'Discover Izu' series.This time we introduce you to the Myotoku Temple Tourist Centre, a place suitable for cyclists.
From Shuzenji Station, head towards the Amagi Pass and you will find the Izu-Ichiyama area. You are still halfway through your journey, but there is a temple nestled in silence called Myotoku
Temple. It has a long history and houses the god Ususama Myo-o (烏瑟沙摩明王). Although the name is unfamiliar to many, today it is known as the 'God of the Toilet'.
Ususama Myo-o, better known as the patron god of toilets, is widely worshipped throughout the country for his blessing against diseases of the lower parts of the body. It is one of those places
that cyclists should visit several times.
At the entrance to Myotoku Temple there is also a famous shop selling yakimochi, barbecued rice cakes, which satisfy cyclists' stomachs. Its delicious herb rice cakes and freshly baked isobeyaki are excellent.
